Homecoming at Southern Christian Children’s Homes

by JGA News on May 9, 2016

It was a pleasure to attend the annual homecoming event for Southern Christian Children’s Homes in Morrilton on Saturday, May 7th. This was the 90th year for the homecoming. Southern Christian Children’s Homes has been taking care of children in need since 1926. Praise The Lord for that. We are so privileged at James Greene & Associates to have the opportunity to serve such a great organization like Southern Christian Children’s Homes. There were many inspirational stories that were shared and a lot of smiles. The Mayor of Morrilton, Allen Lipsmeyer provided words of welcome and thanked SCCH for being such a vital part of the community. Everyone also was able to enjoy some great BBQ and some of Wayne Bartley’s famous peach cobbler. Yum! This year is a very exciting year for SCCH. The home has started the “From the Ground Up” campaign. The campaign is charged with raising more than $1 million for the construction of a new dormitory to help more children in need. I want to thank Executive Director, Wayne Bartley for his invitation to this event and his friendship. It was also great to see Mr. Carroll Sites who is the Chairman of The Board for SCCH. I am looking forward to next year and hopefully seeing the new dormitory. Many thanks to the fantastic team at SCCH that works tirelessly to love and encourage the kids in their care. God Bless all of you!
