29th Annual Fish & Fowl Dinner

Friendly Chapel Church of the Nazarene held its 29th Annual Fish & Fowl Dinner at Verizon Arena Friday night. An estimated 5,500 were in attendance. This is the only fund raiser all year for the church which has a soup kitchen and shelter for the homeless. Proceeds from the Fish Fry go towards: 1) Debt free construction of the Buddy Building (Gym, Soup Kitchen & Shelter, Office, & Meeting Room). 2) Funds the soup kitchen and pantry for the year which serves over 50,000 annually. 3) Russ & Billie Matchett Thrift Shop (Everything under $1 unless in need – then its free) has allowed over $169,000 in scholarships over the past 24 years. 4) Over 1,811 elementary school children have received over $260,800  in new school clothes for the past 23 years. 5) Over 64,950 brand new gifts have been provided to more than 4,250 children for Christmas. The annual “County Store” includes wrapping gifts for them to GIVE to mom, dad, and siblings the past 31 years at no cost to them. 6) Remodeled 10 “Houses of Hope”.   JGA Customer Service Manager Natalie Holderfield had the priviledge of being apart of the exciting event.
